Increase the number of railway terminals in order to relaunch the intermodal logistics system. In line with this goal, the logistics hub of the FS Italiane Group, through its subsidiary TX Logistik, becomes a shareholder in the Duisburg terminal in Germany, consolidating its presence in Europe and strengthening its presence on the freight transport value chain. Three partners of the newly formed company "Ziel Terminal GmbH" which acquired the Duisburg terminal: the Dutch Samskip, which holds 49.8 percent of the shares, Duisport, a local port company, and TX Logistik, each with 25.1%. The terminal is 140,000 square meters in size and has seven 720-meter-long transhipment tracks, two shunting tracks, and two high-performance gantry cranes for transshipment between road and rail. The total annual handling capacity is 250,000 load units.
