According to the results emerging from the third edition of the EY Future Travel Behaviours Observatory, there is a growing trend of vacation travel and recovering from the decline due to the pandemic (89 percent this year compared to 85 percent in 2022), with Italians' propensity to maintain or increase the frequency of their trips greater than in other major European countries. Although to date there is no significant impact of inflation on Italians' travel choices, a potential risk emerges with about 65 percent of the sample reducing the duration and/or number of trips in the event of a drop in their purchasing power. The Observatory's data testify how vacation travel is on the rise with further recovery from the decline due to the pandemic. In this regard, 89 percent of participants plan at least one vacation trip in 2023, an improvement over 2022 (85 percent). Italy also has the highest percentage of travelers in Europe (88%) who will increase or not limit travel in 2023, and 1 in 5 people plan to increase travel compared to last year.
