Farwill, a startup that provides tourism and cultural promotion services to people with disabilities and other special needs, was introduced in Rome yesterday. According to ISTAT data from 2019, there are approximately 3 million and 150 thousand people with disabilities in Italy. According to the Ministry of Tourism's multiplication factor, this figure is expected to grow to 11.48 million potential users and a market value of around 10 billion euros per year. "Farwill arose from my life experience - says Marco Bolsi, Farwill's founder and CEO - As a disabled person, I became aware of the numerous obstacles that can arise when traveling or simply going about one's daily business. Accessibility information is frequently incomplete, out of date, or completely absent. Furthermore, the availability of accessible activities is decreasing. As a result, Farwill was born." With Farwill, "not only is the person with a disability fully included in the tourism chain's target, but every person with specific needs is placed at the center of the service offer." Farwill has begun an inspection and mapping of Rome and the Lazio Region with regard to cultural sites (museums, churches, monuments, archaeological sites), lodging and catering facilities, parks and green areas, and public transportation services. The information gathered is organized into tabs that can be accessed via the Farwill platform, which was designed in accordance with the most recent international accessibility standards. Each user can actively participate in mapping the territory and developing an all-inclusive tourist offer. Farwill designs experiences and itineraries in collaboration with cultural operators, qualified tourist guides, associations, public and private realities linked to the territory to meet an ever-increasing demand for accessible services. The validated Farwill team experiences will be co-designed or proposed through affiliation to implement the offer on national soil. Cultural, food and wine, nature and wellness, sport and leisure activities, workshops, and educational activities for schools and teachers will be included. Farwill also encourages dialogue with bodies, institutions, and trade associations, as well as managers of lodging and catering facilities, tour operators, and travel agencies, with the goal of developing a model of cooperation that includes all stakeholders in the tourism supply chain.
