The Pecorino Romano Protection Consortium flies from Sardinia to the podium of Europe with the Life Magis, Made Green in Italy project. It is the only one in the dairy sector to have joined the project, taking up the challenge and aiming for the ambitious goal of "green certification" that guarantees sustainable production for the benefit of the end consumer. The European Union project measures the environmental footprint, that is, how much a livestock farm or processor pollutes and then indicates corrective measures that, if followed correctly, will ensure the green turn. It is a challenge that projects Pecorino Romano PDO into the future, with its 600 million consumer sales per year and 12,000 companies in the sector. The point of the situation was made in Macomer, with the General Manager of the Consortium Riccardo Pastore and President Gianni Maoddi, who emphasized how the need for sustainability is now unavoidable for consumers, who are increasingly attentive to this aspect and, upstream in the process, for breeders and processors.
