On May 1, the government passed the Labor Decree. Forty-eight percent rated it positively with 16.4 percent finding the greater liberalization of fixed-term contracts negative, however. Rejecting it is 45.6 percent with 17.5 percent, however, blessing the cut in the tax wedge. This is what emerges from the weekly survey conducted by the Termometro Politico center between May 2 and 4, 2023. Still on the topic of labor, for more than 7 out of 10 Italians, May Day holiday still has value. Among them, 32.8 percent believe that workers' rights are not taken for granted and therefore must always be claimed, 17.2 percent think that the event should be updated by calling for more modern tools to improve workers' conditions finally 22.8 percent believe that in Italy May 1 is exploited and used as propaganda occasions by the left. 8.3% do not consider this holiday important while 17.9% say that those who celebrate and organize parades and concerts are the same ones who year after year have taken away workers' rights.
