The Italian agri-food industry is a leading component of national interest, a true flag of the Italian lifestyle, with 179 billion euros in annual turnover, 60 thousand companies, 464 thousand employees, and over 50 billion in exports in value per year. The Federalimentare-Censis report, which was presented to the Chamber yesterday, captured this reality. According to the data, the entire Italian food supply chain has a total turnover of 607 billion euros, equal to 31.8% of the country's gross domestic product, with 1.3 million companies and 3.6 million employees, constituting a "heritage of national interest".
