"On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, the Government reaffirms its commitment to combat all forms of discrimination, violence, and intolerance. The protection and defense of every person's dignity is enshrined in the Constitution and must be pursued by all institutions at all levels. A commitment that this Executive is pursuing tenaciously, including in terms of victim prevention and support, beginning with the release of the resources required for the refinancing of anti-discrimination centers." These are the words of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the occasion of yesterday's International Day Against Homophobia. "On this Day, we also renew Italy's commitment in the global arena so that the international community keeps the spotlight on the unacceptable persecution and intolerable abuses that people face in various countries around the world because of their sexual orientation. Discrimination and violence, as recalled today by President of the Republic Mattarella, which in some cases are even legitimized by legal systems. We can't turn a blind eye", added the prime minister.
