Tomorrow marks the 31st anniversary of the May 23, 1992, massacre of Capaci. Cosa Nostra carried out a brutal explosive attack with a car bomb on the A29 motorway near Palermo, killing anti-mafia magistrate Giovanni Falcone. Along with him, four others were killed: his wife Francesca Morvillo and his security agents Rocco Dicillo, Antonio Montinaro, and Vito Schifani. Twenty-three people were injured. A heinous crime that marked a watershed moment in the civil conscience of the mafia phenomenon.
