The freshness of its 18 years, the solidity of a time-honored tradition, the desire to amaze, to excite, to really be able to read that "future of the future" that is its title this year. The Trento Festival of Economics has officially kicked off, kissed by the sun after a rainy morning. There are crowds in the streets and at the events, the trait d'union between the Sole 24 Ore Group and Trentino is confirmed stronger than ever, with a full house of international guests; a gritty start for the coming-of-age edition. Playing the host at the Teatro Sociale, during the opening of the kermesse, is the President of the Province of Trento Maurizio Fugatti: "Entering 18 years with this strength and with these numbers demonstrates the breadth of the Festival. It is an important attendance number that gives us hope for the days to come. It is also a pluralist Festival, with the presence of ministers but also the leader of the opposition, Elly Schlein. A 360-degree representation that brings Trento to the center of the debate". Fugatti also stressed the deep relationship between the kermesse, its values, and the very concept of territory: "It will be an interesting few days. The vocation is that of a territory where economy rhymes with autonomy". The voice of the 24 Ore Group is that of Ceo Mirja Cartia d'Asero, who dictated the line, pointing out the three guidelines on which the Festival is being developed, namely internationalization, enlargement to a wider audience, and enrichment of content. And with a +35 percent quotas for women among the names in the review. Echoing her is the Group's patron, Edoardo Garrone: "The strength of this project lies in the fact that we have respected the scientific soul of the Festival, but also enriched it with formats, events and speakers who will contribute to the debates". "We are writing the future of the city," stresses Trento Mayor Franco Ianeselli, "we are involved in one of the major works in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, a major railway project. Today Commissioner Gentiloni was telling us, 'try to respect the timetable'. It's not an easy task, but the contribution that Trento and Trentino are making is to respect the timetable and take responsibility". The metaphorical candles have been blown out: now the party can really start.
