In the municipal elections run-offs involving the seven provincial capitals, the center-right defeated the center-left 5-1. This confirms the conservative wave that already leads the country and the vast majority of Italian regions: the center-right in the second round confirms the three Tuscan strongholds Massa (Francesco Persiani), Pisa (Michele Conti), and Siena (Nicoletta Fabio); snatches to the left the ports of Ancona (Daniele Silvetti), after 30 years, and Brindisi (Pino Marchionna, the winner with the clearest margin with 53.99). The only Schlein-effect ringing was caught in Vicenza. Thanks to Giacomo Possamai's act, the center-left tears instead of the right. The seventh result comes from Terni, where civic outsider Stefano Bandecchi prevails with 54.62, although he could be linked with the right. The calculation is more balanced by including non-capital municipalities: the center-right has Adria, Anagni, Aprilia, Pietrasanta, Porto Sant'Elpidio, Umbertide, and Vedelago; the center-left has Arese, Cologno Monzese, Gorgonzola, Marano di Napoli, Nova Milanese, Novi Ligure, and Torre del Greco. Results on which, however, the figure of abstentionalism once again weighs like a boulder: this time, only 49.64 percent of those eligible to vote participated in the election, a significant decline from the first round's 58.39 percent.
