Following the threatening letter with a 7.65-caliber bullet and the threat written in pen "Bastard, the next one is yours" intercepted by the Postal Service and promptly reported later in the day, the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, declares himself calm: "First of all, I would like to say thank you for the many expressions of solidarity I am receiving in these hours. The first thing I feel like saying is that I am calm and that I will continue my work as I always have. I believe that incidents like this do not deserve any further comment. Rather, I would like to gratefully return the attention and sensitivity that I am receiving from many quarters and to thank in turn the police and the judiciary for the work they are doing. To everyone I want to say that there will certainly not be threats that will make me waver from the commitments I have made to the Trentino community". Meanwhile, Trentino law enforcement agencies are closely following the case: they are considering putting Fugatti under escort (in 2021, Government Commissioner Sandro Lombardi had put the President of the Province under escort after an escalation of insults and threats on the subject - also in that case - of large carnivores, while the Digos agency is also investigating the matter. This is not the first bullet received by Fugatti: in January 2022 he received one by mail (a 9-caliber parabellum), sent together with a letter written with transfers containing threats traceable to the no vax world.
