There will be no additional penalties, but a fine of 718 thousand euros will be imposed. The so-called "salary case" closes with the approval of the plea bargain proposed by Juventus by the National Federal Court - Disciplinary Section. The inquiry focused on an alleged false drop in the salary of the club's players, resulting in a cost reduction in the 2020 and 2021 budgets. In reality, the members' debt situation was concealed. In addition to the Juventus club, the device allows for penalties of less than 50,000 euros for Fabio Paratici, Pavel Nedved, and the other managers participating in the probe. The plea bargain was contingent on Juventus waiving their right to appeal the Federal Court's May 22 decision, which penalized them 10 points in the current championship standings for the other line of investigation, involving capital gains, and the April 20 decision of the CONI Guarantee Board. In a statement, Juventus says that "while reiterating the correctness of its actions and the validity of its defensive arguments," it has decided to enter the plea bargain "in the best interests of the Company itself, its shareholders, and all stakeholders (both in and out of the sporting world). The definition of all open FIGC sports proceedings enables the company to achieve a certain result, putting a firm point and overcoming the state of tension and instability that would inevitably result from the continuation of uncertain disputes in the outcomes and times, as well as allowing the management, the coach of the First Team, and the players to focus on sporting activity and in particular on the overall programming for the next season (both with reference to sports activities and with regard to business relationships with sponsors, other commercial counterparties and financial counterparties)".
