The "Alpine Tour of the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Register" made a stop in Trieste, following a road route planned in Europe 110 years ago. 34 gorgeous antique Rolls-Royce vehicles have arrived in Trieste. The caravan paused for two days and two nights at Trieste's famous Piazza della Borsa, a halt on a lengthy voyage that began in Vienna and wound through Austria, Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia before returning to the same Austrian city. The trip was organized by Classic Travelling, a specialist travel firm, on behalf of the "Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club Silver Ghost Register" and re-enacted a tour from the period. In fact, the Alpenfahrt, a "classic" of vintage vehicle travel, is celebrating its 110th year this year. The original Alpenfahrt lasted eight days and required a high level of driver and vehicle endurance. For 2023, however, the voyage has been prolonged to a maximum of three weeks, converting it from a type of competition into a pleasurable excursion and reducing the burden on motors and cars over a century old.
