In 2022, China continued to dominate the global furniture market, accounting for 37.1% of production despite showing signs of slowing growth. They are trailed by the United States (13.6%) and Italy, whose 4.5% market share surpasses Germany's (4.3%). This is the conclusion of a report on home, office, and community furniture by the Mediobanca Research Area, which examines the sector's international trend. Italy is the second largest furniture exporter in the EU-27, after Poland, and the fourth largest in the world, after Poland, Vietnam, and China, which dominates the ranking with 34.1% of total exports. The 286 largest Italian companies generated 14 billion euros in revenue (55.2% of which came from exports). The Northeast has the most companies (149), followed by the North West, which has 63. The most representative in terms of turnover is the one that includes furniture kits, components, and furnishing accessories, with 3.2 billion. This is followed by products for living rooms, nights, and environments other than bathrooms and kitchens, which account for 2.6 billion, and armchairs and sofas, which account for 2.5 billion each.
