On Thursday, June 8, the President of the National Anticorruption Authority, Giuseppe Busia, presented his annual report to Parliament. Among the data cited by Busia was the Transparency International Report on Corruption in the World, which is published every year at the end of January, and which indicates for Italy a marked improvement in recent years. From the inception of the Anti-Corruption Authority in 2014 to the present, Italy has improved by 28 positions, relative to this ranking on the perception of corruption. In 2014, Italy was in position 69 in the ranking of countries according to the level of perceived corruption. This position has improved over the years, and the latest survey (the one for 2022, made public at the end of January 2023), sees Italy improving more and more to 41st position. Among the least corrupt countries at the top positions are Denmark, New Zealand and Finland.
