Italy and Germany are ready to tighten an Action Plan. Expected in the middle of last year, the signing of the agreement that should strengthen the Rome-Berlin axis will instead arrive by the end of this year, in the hope that it will also help relations with France. The announcement was made yesterday by Giorgia Meloni and Olaf Scholz after a meeting at Palazzo Chigi, where the common vision on the war in Ukraine and interest in the energy hub plan on which the Italian government is working were reaffirmed. Instead, distances remain on the new Stability Pact, with the Italian Prime Minister pushing hard for flexibility, while the German Chancellor avoided the topic during statements.
