Beyond all considerations of merit, there is no doubt that Silvio Berlusconi has been one of the figures to have most influenced, among others, the political history of our country since he took the field in 1994. This influence can also be found in the numbers. As the Openpolis foundation reports, Berlusconi has been the longest-serving politician ever to serve as Prime Minister. With the four executives he led, he was the head of Palazzo Chigi for 3,342 days. Surpassing even other top politicians such as Giulio Andreotti (2,679 days) and Aldo Moro (2,278 days). Moreover, he was among the politicians who have been entrusted the most times to form a government by the Head of State (4), surpassed only by Andreotti (7), Fanfani (6), Moro and Rumor (5). He also led the two longest-running single executives in Republican history: the Berlusconi II (1,413 days) and Berlusconi IV (1,288 days), respectively. Finally, it should be noted that the leader of Forza Italia was also the second politician who spent the most consecutive days in Palazzo Chigi (1,802) between his second and third executive. Only Alcide De Gasperi, at the beginning of the Republican period, recorded a higher figure (1,912 consecutive days).
