A girl who is abused by and runs away from her alcoholic father; her discovery by a great film producer who can turn a pumpkin into a flaming Rolls-Royce; her first appearance on the big screen; and her winning over the heart of the main actor. The version of "Cinderella" signed by Rudolf Nureyev that the Corps de Ballet of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, directed by Eleonora Abbagnato, will perform as part of the Caracalla Festival 2023 from 1 to 4 July in the Teatro Grande of the ancient Roman baths, is set in the Hollywood universe of the 1930s. Created in 1986 for the Paris Opera, this modern reinterpretation of one of the most popular fairy tales, with music by Sergej Prokof'ev, is proposed for the first time by the Corps de Ballet of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Cinderella has undergone various adaptations throughout its history, and Nureyev had enjoyed transporting the plot into the Hollywood universe of the 1930s: discovered by a film producer, an abused girl fleeing from an alcoholic father and an obnoxious stepmother, debuts on the big screen and wins the heart of the main actor.
