Marco Bizzarri, Gucci's President and CEO since 2015, will leave the company on September 23, on the heels of the catwalk debut of the new Creative Director, Sabato De Sarno. He will be replaced "for a transitional period" by Jean-Francois Palus, Deputy CEO of parent company Kering. When Bizzarri came to the top of the brand, Gucci was billing 3.9 billion euros; that leaves it at more than 10.5 billion euros, among the most profitable brands in the world. Of course, gone are the triumphant marches of the turnovers, but so is that climate of optimism that existed under the leadership of Bizzarri and Alessandro Michele: the great couple of Made in Italy. Born in Rubiera in the province of Reggio Emilia in 1962 with an innate talent for mathematics and a great passion for sports, Bizzarri had recently signed a three-year contract, reportedly not much less than 10 million dollars a year. Now, for the transition period, taking the reins of the brand will be the CEO of parent company Kering, Jean-François Palus, who will have the delicate task of ferrying the brand through this delicate phase, while awaiting the arrival of new Creative Director Sabato De Sarno.
