Putting employee health at the center of corporate welfare policies. This was the choice made during the pandemic by Tenaris, a global manufacturer of steel pipes for the energy industry and industrial applications, about 25,000 employees in 30 countries, a company belonging to the Techint Group (Rocca family) listed on the Milan, New York and Mexico City stock exchanges and with annual sales of $11.8 billion. Now the results of the Health Care Project, which had made eye tests, blood tests, Pap tests and numerous other clinical examinations available to employees free of charge, have been released. Nearly two years after the project's launch, the results, analyzed in collaboration with Humanitas Group-a group company that developed the protocols-and internationally renowned epidemiologist Professor Elio Riboli, highlight employees' appreciation. In 2022, 81% of staff underwent the annual checkup (+20% compared to 2021). In countries such as Colombia, Saudi Arabia, China and Nigeria, participation in the new protocol was close to 100%. In Italy in Tenaris Dalmine plants more than 800 people have joined this campaign and about 70% have undergone screening. More than 3 thousand clinical checks were carried out. Tenaris was thus able to improve the focus on health issues such as cardiopulmonary diseases and obesity.
