"It's the best day of my life. I am happy to be in Italy, thank you all, see you in Bologna". These were the words of Patrick Zaki upon his arrival yesterday at Malpensa airport in Milan with his sister. The Egyptian researcher, wearing a blue bracelet from the "Free Patrick Zaki" campaign for his release, was welcomed by the rector of the University of Bologna, Giovanni Molari, and his professor, Rita Monticelli. Escorted by police, the group then departed for Bologna. Before leaving, outside the airport, a small crowd reserved applause for him, to which Zaki responded with a thumbs-up, smiling.
