The difficulties associated with generational transitions pose a threat to nearly 4 million Italian micro enterprises, which generate approximately 221 billion euros of added value, or 27% of the total: the succession from parent to child, in fact, due to cultural, bureaucratic, fiscal, and financial obstacles, is a serious impediment to business continuity in at least 25% of minor companies, or nearly 1 million entrepreneurial activities to which a turnover of 55 billion euros can be attributed. As a result, Made in Italy, particularly that associated with craftsmanship, is literally on the verge of extinction. According to a survey conducted by the Unimpresa Study Center, the other sectors most at risk are carpentry, plumbing, tailoring, and food and wine. Indeed, hundreds of thousands of trades and activities, some with significant historical as well as purely economic value, face extinction.
