The Italian business system maintains its resilience, as well as some dynamism. The second quarter of 2023 data show a positive balance between business openings and closures, with an overall increase of 28,286 new companies in the April-June period. Although an encouraging sign, the outcome is one of the least brilliant in the last ten years. The low number of registrations (79,277), the second worst result of the decade after the "pandemic" result of 2020, was one of the primary factors that influenced the demographic picture of companies in the second quarter of the year. At the same time, terminations have reached 51 thousand units (50,991), a figure that, while still lower than the pre-covid period average, represents the third consecutive increase in the last three years. This is the summary of Unioncamere and InfoCamere's quarterly Movimprese analysis for the period April-June 2023, based on data from the Chambers of Commerce's Register of Companies.
