Inspired by cinema on the road is the official poster image signed by Lorenzo Mattotti, also author of the theme song, for the 80th Venice International Film Festival. Italian illustrator and author Lorenzo Mattotti signs for the sixth year the image of the official poster, and for the fifth year the theme song of the Venice Biennale's 80th Venice International Film Festival, which will be held from August 30 to September 9. The image chosen for the poster of the 80th film exhibition "is inspired by the tradition of cinema on the road," Lorenzo Mattotti explains, "and wants to express feelings of freedom, adventure, and the discovery of new territories. I played with graphics," the author stresses, "to represent new worlds to explore through the cinema. We are convinced that there is a great future precisely for the cinema that looks far and ventures into new paths. Moreover, this year the festival is celebrating its 80th edition and we wanted to remember this in the number that appears on the license plate of a fancy car. Of course, there are many films that can be evoked by looking at this image, for example, The Overtaking, Easy Rider or Thelma and Louise. May each one find its own movie on the road. It is a wish for the cinema to go far and run into the future. A future made of explorations, searching for new frontiers: a bright and colorful cinema".
