"A beautiful day." The Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, is pleased after the Senate yesterday rejected the motion of individual no-confidence against her, which was presented by the 5 Star Movement and supported by Pd and Avs in relation to the legal events involving her companies. There were 111 no votes and 67 yes votes, with the exception of the senators of Azione-Italia Viva, who did not vote as announced. "On the 5th of July, I already had the opportunity to elaborate on the various aspects of this pseudo-journalistic investigation - said Santanchè - I say it clearly: I do not intend to rehash the merits, as I have already exposed the facts with clarity and transparency. Allow me only to reiterate, for the accusation that has been unfairly directed at me, even with large headlines in the newspapers, that when I arrived at the Senate on July 5, I had not received any information or notice of guarantee from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Milan. Even the press has confirmed that the investigation was extended to my residence in Milan on July 17. So, not only have I told the truth, but those who say otherwise are lying, knowing that they are lying", the minister pointed out, stressing that she has "some difficulty in understanding how one can promote, on the basis of elements of a pseudo-journalistic investigation, an individual motion of no confidence that does not have as its object my work as Minister of the Republic, or the possible violation of constitutional or legal obligations in the activity carried out by my dicastery and which, above all, has as its object facts that, if they will be highlighted, are prior to my oath as minister. However, as I have stated several times, I believe that I have solemnly clarified the entire truth in this House." The current Minister of Tourism is the subject of an investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office for fraud against the state, false balance sheets, bankruptcy, and rigging for some companies in which Santanchè would have had more or less active participations.
