Italy concludes the World Fencing Championships in Milan, which ended yesterday, July 30, with a total of ten medals: four golds (the most since 2018), four silvers, and two bronzes. Gold medals were awarded to Alice Volpi, Tommaso Marini (individual foil), the women's foil team, and the men's team épée; silver medals were awarded to Alberta Santuccio (individual épée), Arianna Errigo (individual foil), Davide Di Veroli (individual épée), and the women's épée team; and bronze medals were awarded to Mara Navarria (individual épée) and Martina Favaretto (individual foil). With 10 medals overall, this is the second-best performance ever at the World Championships, trailing only the record of 11 set in 1949 in Cairo and in 2011 in Catania, the last edition hosted in Italy before the latter in Milan.
