After the regions of Veneto and Lombardy, severe weather struck various areas of Alto Adige during the night of 29 to 30 July, causing damage and storms. However, there were no injuries or missing persons, and the extent of the damage is still being determined. Among the various interventions on the territory yesterday, firefighters responded to flooded and muddy roads in Valdaora, while the hamlet of Sorafurcia was partially isolated due to a bridge collapse. Indeed, in the Val Pusteria, particularly between Casies and Valdaora, the streams have dragged away with their strength even some wooden bridges, as evidenced by some social media videos. In Colfosco, meanwhile, a landslide has buried automobiles parked at the base of the via ferrata Tridentina, but the drivers are unharmed. Firefighters also responded to landslides and flooding in Parcines, Verdins, and Scena. However, Alto Adige was not the only area affected by bad weather: a strong storm with hail hit Verona, in Veneto, on the night of July 29 and 30, causing the destruction of approximately forty plants, the uncovering of some roofs, and the breaking of a dozen traffic lights. As a result, the Italian peninsula remains divided: the north is still dealing with thunderstorms and storms, while the south is dealing with fires and the consequences for air quality.
