Yesterday morning, a search of the Digos (General Investigations and Special Operations Division of the Police) of Turin led to the seizure of various materials that, according to investigators, were used during the attacks on July 30 at the Chiomonte and San Didero (Turin) high-speed construction sites (commonly known as TAV). The operation involved the No Tav garrisons of Venaus and San Didero in Val di Susa, Piedmont Region: the No Tav is an Italian protest movement that opposes the construction of infrastructure for high-speed rail, particularly due to the environmental impact that such works would have. In Venaus, a number of sticks were discovered, whereas in San Didero, where the attack by the most extreme wing of the movement was more intense, large firecrackers and mechanical hoists with steel cables were seized. Also seized were plexiglass shields reinforced with iron grids and four-pointed nails used to puncture the tires of law enforcement vehicles on the street.
