General Roberto Vannacci's book "The World in Reverse" continues to stir controversy. Hosted this morning by "Morning News" on the Italian Channel 5, Vannacci commented on the controversy surrounding his removal from his position at the Military Geographical Institute in Florence: "I have not received any notification of disciplinary action against me. I was neither removed nor dismissed, I was replaced, last night at midnight. As of this morning there is another person occupying my position at the Military Geographical Institute. In the event that there is a measure, this is not to blame me. We will see in the very end". Vannacci continued to defend himself against the attacks he has received in recent days, saying that "my opinions are questionable but not offensive. I challenge anyone to find whether I may have had in my employ offensive or discriminatory attitudes towards homosexuals". On the possibility of his eventual descent into politics, he remained cautious, commenting only that "I'm soldiering on. At least for now".
