Mattia Aguzzi, a 37-year-old bank clerk, caught a 3-year-old girl who fell 50 feet from the fifth floor of a building in Turin. And he saved her life. Aguzzi had left the house with his girlfriend when he says he "heard screams from a building that got our attention". Screaming was a boy who, from a building across the street, had noticed the little girl climbing over the ledge. "I have to thank him. The child was only holding on with her arms and had her legs in the gap. I started shouting at her to stay still and get back in, but she couldn't hear. When I saw her fall, I stood in the path, closed my eyes and hoped for the best". And it worked: "Thanks to instinct, I blocked her and cushioned the blow, then we both fell to the ground. Initially I felt no signs of life: I started breathing again when I heard her crying". His secret? "He works out," Aguzzi's girlfriend said proudly.
