Venice's Toniolo Theater is preparing to celebrate 110 years with a series of initiatives related to its birth and history. The first event is scheduled for August 30 with a special stamp cancellation by Poste Italiane and the "From Art Nouveau to the Middle Ages" itinerary. On October 21, on the other hand, a historical re-enactment will be held in the heart of Mestre that will take the city back to the distant 1912: for the occasion, La Fenice Theater will stage excerpts from Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto", just as it did during the inauguration of the Toniolo. "An anniversary to tell the story of this theater, always with a contemporary vision, aimed in particular at young people, whom we try to involve in the initiatives we continue to plan. There are, for example, the initiatives of La Fenice Theater in schools and the "Venice City Campus" agreement signed with universities and cultural institutions to allow those studying in Venice to cultivate their passions and to be able to pursue career paths," commented Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro.
