Nearly one billion euros is the export value of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises that used Amazon's online store in 2022. This is more than half of the 21 thousand SMEs: to be precise, sales abroad were worth 950 million euros, 20% more than in 2021. Among the top selling countries are Germany, France, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom. Some 850 SMEs using Amazon have exceeded 1 million euros in sales and more than 5,100 have exceeded 100 thousand euros. Businesses on the store sold more than 125 million products in total (more than 250 products per minute). Lombardy, Campania, Tuscany, Latium, and Veneto are the Italian regions with the highest export value through the web platform in 2022. Also in terms of foreign sales volume, the top eight cities are Milan, Naples, Rome, Florence, Turin, Bolzano, Bari and Bologna. In particular, Lombardy has more than 3,400 small and medium-sized enterprises and more than 175 million registered sales abroad. Latium, on the other hand, recorded more than 80 million exports. The top product categories sold abroad by SMEs through Amazon are: home, beauty, health and personal care, sports and food.
