Amazon is getting stronger in Italy. The next step will be the inauguration of the new center in Jesi (Ancona), where the company will create 1,000 permanent jobs over three years. There are more than 60 different roles within the plant, from procurement professionals to finance managers, IT specialists and quality controllers, engineers and robotics experts, to teams that pick, package and ship customer orders. The building will be equipped with Amazon robotics technology, which brings shelves containing products that customers can order to workstations. Amazon currently has 18,000 employees in Italy, 35% are women, a significant figure compared to the national average of the sector, less than 22%.
