Former Prime Minister and now President of the Constitutional Court Giuliano Amato could be questioned by Rome prosecutors as part of the ongoing investigation into the Ustica massacre, following statements made in an interview with Repubblica and then partially corrected. Amato resurrected the missile theory as the cause of the plane crash that killed 81 people aboard an Italian flight on June 27, 1980, after taking over French responsibilities. Words that even Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed as important and worthy of consideration, but which go in the opposite direction of the final sentence on the first investigation, which established the presence of a bomb on board and exonerated the Italian army generals.
