Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global, one of the large U.S. multinational renewables companies, is working on a three-year €3 billion investment plan in Italy, including €2 billion on photovoltaics alone, to provide clean energy. It is with this goal in mind that it has been shuttling between Rome and Milan this past year to finalize the development plan. "We have a portfolio of 4 GW of renewable assets," Carlos Domenech told the Sole 24 Ore newspaper, "including large-scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects in Italy. Just by building our existing photovoltaic projects, most of which are at an advanced stage of development, we will commit more than 2 billion euros. In addition, we are working on the development and integration of energy storage systems"."With this investment," Domenech continued, "we intend to create a significant number of local jobs and become a strategic partner for Italy in its energy transition, helping the country reduce its international dependence on fossil fuels".
