The Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, has announced a substantial plan of incentives to encourage the green transition of the automotive industry. "It is our intention to increase incentives to enable those who really need them and to improve the circulating fleet," the minister said, referring explicitly to "the owners of Euro 0,1,2 and 3 cars," of which there are as many as 11 million in Italy. In the game to revive the sector, the government considers it crucial to start negotiations with Stellantis, which today is the only car manufacturer in Italy. Urso promises a turnaround: "We want a reversal of what has happened in the last 20 years, when car production in Italy has continually collapsed." The table with Stellantis, Urso concluded, "will commit the company to review the international plan in place to guarantee production in our country and employment."
