The Italian national team is gearing up for tomorrow's match against North Macedonia. A test that will mark the debut of Luciano Spalletti on the bench of the Azzurri, following the tumultuous departure of Roberto Mancini, who succumbed to Arab flattery. The match against Macedonia is a very delicate race, not only because it marks the beginning of a new CT, but also because the situation in Group C of the EURO 2024 qualifiers for the Azzurri has not become very simple, with England maintaining its lead with full points (four wins out of four) and Ukraine currently scoring three points more than the Italian national team. This will be Italy's third qualifying match, following defeats to England (1-2) and a victory on Maltese soil last March 26 (0-2). We're only getting started, but in Skopje, in the presence of the same North Macedonia that knocked the Azzurri out of the World Cup in Qatar, we can't go wrong. There is a lot of interest in seeing what the new coach Spalletti's first training choices will be. One thing is certain on the eve of the match in Macedonia: the Tuscan coach, like his predecessor Mancini, will continue to focus on the 4-man defense, composing a 4-3-3 but more dynamic than in the past: pressing, aggressiveness, and full-backs attacking on the wings, are the new weapons on which the Spalletti national team will focus. A module that, with time, could evolve into a 4-2-3-1, another system familiar to Certaldo's coach.
