Ferrero's roughly 6,000 employees will earn a performance bonus of around 2,400 euros in their October payment, based on the achievement of goals. The corporation negotiated a deal with the unions. Individual employees (workers and employees) will be able to convert a portion of the prize into personal services (flexible benefits) to the tune of 300, 500, or 700 euros, which can be spent on shopping vouchers, water, electricity, and gas bills, goods or services to the person or family, from education to training, up to medical expenses, or convertible into petrol vouchers or supplementary pensions. The amount of the bonus was established by the performance of two parameters: the economic result, which is unique to the whole firm and accounts for 30% of the premium, and the operational result, which accounts for 70% of the premium and is tied to the individual performance of each plant and region. The corporation and the trade unions express "complete satisfaction with the results achieved, with a focus on people's attention and protection, the importance of social ties, and recognition of the strategic role of consolidated and profitable industrial relations."
