Tightening suspensions and voting system of student's behavior: the government tightens the penalties for those who misbehave in the classroom, using the vote as a weapon against the violence that in recent years has primarily affected teachers but also students in Italian schools. Yesterday, the Council of Ministers authorized the bill for the revision of the evaluation of student behavior and the institution-wide reform of the technological-professional training chain. As for the behavior grade, it will also be implemented in middle school, will be conveyed in tenths, and will be incorporated into the credits required for admission to the maturity exam. According to present legislation, the rejection, following a 5 out of 10 mark as for a student's behavior, is only applied in the presence of major acts of violence or the commission of crimes. Instead, the new policy makes it clear that substantial and persistent violations of the Institute Regulations might lead to a 5 out of 10, and thus to rejection. High school students who receive a "6 for behavior" will fail in the subject of civic education, which must be recovered in September through a test focused on citizenship principles. Only students who earn a 9 or 10 in conduct will be eligible for the maximum number of credits based on the ultimate average for maturity. The suspension, understood as a straightforward removal from the school, instead there will be no more: the suspended student will be involved in school activities - assigned by the class council - of reflection and in-depth study on issues related to the behaviors that caused the measure. A path that culminates in the production of a paper on the material covered. If the suspension exceeds two days, the student must participate in community service activities at affiliated locations.
