"The Republic recognizes the educational, social and promotional value of psychophysical well-being of sporting activity in all its forms". This is the paragraph that is added to Article 33 of the Italian Constitutional Charter, thanks to the draft constitutional law approved today definitively by the Chamber. The green light of the Chamber of Montecitorio in second deliberation came unanimously (312 yes and no votes against): reached the necessary threshold of the majority of the components of the assembly and also that of two-thirds (as happened similarly in second deliberation in Palazzo Madama), so on the basis of Article 138 of the Constitution does not give rise to popular referendum. The bill resumes the text that in the last legislature was approved in first and second reading by the Senate, and in only first reading by the Chamber, where it did not complete its process due to the dissolution of the latter. "The unanimous final approval in Parliament of the constitutional reform for the introduction of sport in the Constitution represents a historic page for the nation," commented Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, "Recognizing in our fundamental Charter the educational, social and promotional value of psychophysical well-being of sporting activity in all its forms is a true cultural revolution".
