Increasingly determined to invest in Italy, Netflix presented original productions made in the country and set to land on the platform in the coming weeks: series, films, docuseries and "unscripted" programs. The protagonists include Vasco Rossi and the Leopard, Rocco Siffredi and nineteenth-century brigantesses, teenagers in the Agro Pontino and mental distress, the story of a transwoman and miserable postwar Italy, metropolitan rappers and Ferzan Ozpetek's autobiographical memories, a mature woman rediscovering sex and the seething criminal humankind that populates Rome. Among the most anticipated titles is Ferzan Ozpetek's Nuovo Olimpo (New Olympus), an event at the upcoming Rome Film Festival and on the platform from November 1: the director evokes a love affair in the 1970s in the Rome of film clubs and political demonstrations. Also highly anticipated is Il Gattopardo in episodes, with Kim Rossi Stuart in the role that was Burt Lancaster's in Luchino Visconti's masterpiece.
