Among those who express a lot of satisfaction with their jobs, Italian employees rank last in the rankings compiled by the European social survey, a survey comparing 30 European countries, both EU and non-EU members (plus Israel). Only 47 out of 100 employed people report high levels of satisfaction, 7 percentage points below the European average. Above all, however, light years away from the 71 percent and higher percentages of countries such as Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium. In fact, less happy than Italians are only Greeks, Poles and Spaniards. This was revealed today in Rome during the presentation of the first 'National Report of the European Social Survey in Italy'. The share of the dissatisfied increases if education levels are not high, employment contracts are temporary, job classifications are low-skilled and if one has non-Italian citizenship.
