Bolzano is the Italian city where the cup of coffee is most expensive: 1.34 euros on average. Messina, on the other hand, has the least expensive coffee, a whisker under one euro (95 cents). The data were provided by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, according to which Espresso has gone from a national average of 1.04 euros in 2021 to the current 1.16 euros. Only in the bars of three Italian cities, Catanzaro, Reggio Calabria and Messina, can espresso still be consumed at prices below 1 euro per cup, while in as many as 22 provinces the prices exceed 1.20 euro. The most expensive cities, after Bolzano, are Trento, Belluno, Padua and Udine.
