All layoffs, involving approximately 4 thousand riders in total, decided by Uber Eats last June when it decided to depart Italy are "illegitimate" and must be "revoked." The Labor Section of the Court of Milan established this with a provision filed today, which declared "the anti-union nature of Uber Eats Italy srl's conduct consisting in the omission of the consultation procedure for the cessation of food delivery activities in the national territory by terminating all employment relationships." The ruling of Judge Luigi Pazienza came after several trade unions filed an appeal. In June of last year, it was announced that Uber Eats would depart Italy in July, as it turned out, and that, as the unions had already protested, thousands of riders were left at home with an email. Before the company left our nation, around 8000 riders were registered on the web page, of which 4,000 were completely active. Now, the company must make the measure known to the 4,000 riders and publish it on its website, Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as in the leading national papers.
