On Wednesday evening, the bear "F36" was discovered dead. Trento Province announced the news yesterday. The capture of the plantigrade, held responsible for the false attacks in the woods of Roncone in Trentino, was pending, while the killing was thwarted by the TAR. The bear, discovered lifeless in the Sella Giudicarie woods early on July 30 in Mandrel, had chased away two unarmed young hunters. The following 6 August, again in the municipality of Sella Giudicaria, the animal had been responsible of a false attack against two hikers. A provincial arrest warrant had been issued for the six-year-old bear, and the killing warrant had been stayed by the Tar of Trento. According to the Province of Trento, the death was discovered "by men of the Trentino Forestry Corps who moved following the activation of the mortality sensor with which the bear's radio collar is equipped." On the basis of an initial external examination of the carcass, it was impossible to formulate hypotheses regarding the cause of death.
