In the months of June, July, and August 2023, 2,277,139 tickets were purchased to visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, representing a 315,493-ticket increase (+16%) over the same period in 2019 (1,961,646 tickets) and an average of over 25,000 daily visits. The significant milestone is also the result of the extension of the cultural offer provided to visitors in 2023 with the public inauguration of new spaces within the Colosseum as well as spectacular monuments of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. In the case of the Amphitheater, the new panoramic lift allows visitors with mobility issues to access the upper levels and attic of the monument, and the cryptoporticus connecting the basement to the Ludus Magnus (the gym of gladiators), opened to the public in 2021, is now functional and features a multimedia installation and exhibition dedicated to gladiators. The most noteworthy opening at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill was the enormous Domus Tiberiana, the oldest imperial residence, which was reopened after over fifty years of closure.
