On October 22nd and 23rd, the International Wine Expo in Chicago will mark the launch of a collaboration between the Chicago Chamber of Commerce, Italian Expo, and Vinitaly in Verona. In Chicago, there will be over 200 Italian companies from all over Italy (for a total of over 1000 labels), for a matching with 350 operators of a qualified demand - beginning from the horeca sector - coming in particular from the Midwest, (where 2.6 million Italians reside) for an annual consumption of nearly 800 million bottles of wine. Among the 68 labels that will be sampled will be the magazine Decanter's masterclass with the six best Italian wines at the top of the World wine award 2023. "IWE marks our trade fair debut in the world's first consumer country," stated Federico Bricolo, president of Veronafiere. "Our partners' quality and level of innovation over the years have convinced us that this new collaboration may be strategic for Vinitaly right from the start. The potential opportunities to establish an Italian wine reference in a commercial hub of high demand are significant."
