Lara Comi, a Forza Italia Euro MP, was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in the trial in which about 60 people are charged in the "Poor People's Canteen" investigation. The sentence came from the 6th criminal section of Milan. In 2019, Comi had ended up under house arrest - later revoked - on charges of bribery, false invoicing and fraud against the Euro Chamber. "I am shocked about the conviction. All the elements that emerged during the course of the trial attested the acquittal," immediately commented the Forza Italia member, who was present in the courtroom at the time of the reading of the device. "I will continue to defend myself, I will speak in due time, I will not comment further," added Comi, for whom the judges also ordered disqualification from public office and inability to deal with the Public Administration for five years, in addition to the confiscation of 28,700 euros. In the same judicial strand, former Lombard Deputy Coordinator of Forza Italia and former Milan City Councilor Pietro Tatarella and former Lombard Regional Councilor Fabio Altitonante were acquitted because the fact does not exist. 50 other defendants were also acquitted.
