"I feel the weight of the responsibility in leading a nation like Italy". Giorgia Meloni - preceded by a large group of members of her executive - yesterday attended the final day of the Festival of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, organized in Turin. As the square boiled over for the Prime Minister's premiere in the Piedmontese capital, she faced the audience at Teatro Carignano with an open face. Just a stone's throw from the Egyptian Museum - sacrificed on the altar of the latest Fratelli d'Italia-Lega feud - Meloni spoke with her usual effectiveness, moving across the board but keeping in constant contact with the theme of the event, namely the strengthening of the role of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces but also the need and fear of a country that has never been truly united. "Even in the many divisions that this nation likes to highlight, we all remember that we are part of a large, conscious community and that in the end we all win and lose together," the Prime Minister recalled, stressing how "Regions, Autonomous Provinces and Metropolitan Cities are the primary custodians of this bond". Meloni did not hide how difficult it is to "live up" to the country's history and how this commitment "does not allow levity, superficiality or personalism". A clear and direct message to her majority, in the days when the specter of yet another technical government begins to scare more than a few.
