The Arena di Verona Opera Festival celebrated its 100th edition with an all-time record in box office: more than 33 million euros in box office revenue (compared to 29 million euros for the previous record, in 2002), and an increase in attendance (59,584 more spectators than in 2022), which rose to 402,722, 60 percent of whom came from abroad, with an average theater occupancy rate of 80 percent. "It was an extraordinary season, and not only because of the economic results, but also and above all because of the beauty and power of the program," says Arena Opera Foundation Superintendent Cecilia Gasdia enthusiastically. "We had a rich presence of artists, both well-known and talented young people, who were able to reach a very diverse audience. "It was a great celebration," Gasdia adds, "for the Foundation, but also for the city of Verona, so inextricably linked to its opera house, which in recent years has been able to regain economic stability and the strength of the artistic proposal, thanks also to the contribution of private individuals, which has grown over time".
